Misting for deodorization by odor removal with or without chemicals
The fog like scrubber for unpleasant odors. The water spray is an effective vehicle for the transport of chemicals capable of reducing odors. The fog also thanks to the diffusion in the air creates a barrier against odors.
The nebulization of water-soluble molecules capable of neutralizing the odors is revealed a winning solution in many cases, in particular for organic substances, sulfides, ...
Thanks to this we allows you to create effective deodorization systems, environmentally friendly and natural.
Odor control and reduction by water misting and appropriate chemicals
Our misting systems are often used for odors control, in particular industrial sectors where is essential to comply strict regulations about odorous particles emission in the atmosphere.
In Europe, the standard in the field of odors is the EN 13725, which was launched in April 2003: "Determination of odour concentration by dynamic olfactometry".
The emission of unpleasant odor by harmful substances is regulated mostly where, in close proximity to population centers, there is the presence of sources that may annoy the inhabitants, such as: - Waste treatment and disposal plants - Sewage Treatment Plants - Livestock farms - Chemical industry - Paper mills - Iron and steel industry - Food industry - Oil refinery
We developed over the years technologies that allow you to monitor and reduce odors in a completely automated way, thanks to the electronic management of its facilities, intervening when necessary and only when necessary.
An important innovation was in fact the introduction of the electronic nose, which is defined in the scientific field as a "tool that includes a set of specific sensors and an appropriate system to identification the smell" (Gardner e Bartlett - 1994).
The combined use of electronic nose, automated control systems and odor control chemicals, has enabled our clients to solve specific problems of odor emissions, allowing them to improve their business, always in compliance with the current standards.
Our technical department is available to study the technical feasibility of chemical products tailored to the needs of customers on the basis of chemical analysis, in order to make particularly efficient deodorizing action.

Water Mist: firefighting with misting. Innovative. Effective. Cheap.
Watermist systems are growing recenty and are based on fine misting through high pressure, from 80 bar to 140 bar, to get a compact fog with droplets diameter between 50 and 120 micron (μm).
Water mist systems combine the advantages coming from liquid estinguishers to that coming from diffusing gases, besides they aren't damaging people and things, thus reducing risks and costs when the fire is estinguished.
Fog is able to fight the fire acting in three different directions: by cooling the flame and smokes, bringing temperature to a level under combustion temperature. reducing locally the oxygen available for combustion, by water evaporation, vapour is taking space available to oxygen, soffocating the fire heat transmission reduction, thanks to fog cooling effect. This reduces the self combustion and damages connected to heat propagation during fire.

Misting used in industry: cooling, humidification, watermist, dedust
The misting is also for customers in the industrial field: cooling (foundries, plastic molding, steel industry, food industry...), humidification (cold storage, food industry, textile industry, paper industry ...), dust suppression (wood, concrete, ceramic industry, quarries), odor control (water purification systems, chemical industry...).
The cooling of the working environment is made compulsory by the laws on health and safety at the workplace, with particular reference to the optimal temperature and humidity.
Not only. The cooling of the products during the processes is used to improve the product quality and reduce scrap obtained. We have examples of this effect in different sectors: from steel industry, to food industry.
Maintaining proper humidification preserves the freshness of the food without drying extending the storage time. The humidification, in fact, reduces the loss of weight of foods and maintains unaltered even then the economic value.
As for the dust removal, fall into play the legal requirements relating to safety at work and environmental protection. Insight: applications of spraying to reduce fine dust.
By analogy, the environment and the neighborhood, even under the current law, requires break down odors. Insight: the uses of misting to reduce odors
Dust and smells suppression in foundries: discover misting advantages
In foundries the sprinkler systems are used for the removal of wet dust and odors. Nebulizers have advantages and disadvantages compared to other systems for dust filtration and removal. In this article we identify and analyze our technologies used to reduce the risks arising from dust within the plant, and reduce the complaints that may arise from the presence of dust and odors that spread outwards of establishment.
Used in foundries, wet scrubber technology, made with MGF nebulizers, it is ideal to intercept hot and humid dust and suppress it, for example during preparation, transportation, shakeout and molding recovery. In these phases, dry technology, through filter is not suitable. In fact: - residual moisture present in the dusts would clog the filter and pipes, making it particularly onerous maintenance of the plant. - the powders heat makes them particularly volatile and thus more difficult to intercept through a suction system: nebulization in this case provides a double effect, making dust particles heavier and cooling air that carries them, consequently the particles tend to precipitate more quickly to the ground. - last but not least, nebulization is much more effective with fine dust, as the filtering system generated by the fog is random and is regenerated continuously.
The negative aspects of this technology are the formation of more or less dried sludge that must be disposed.
Volatile organic solvents removal
The nebulization of acid solutions can be suitably used for the abatement, as well as dust, also of volatile organic solvents, due to the chemical reaction that develops. Typically the acid solution in this case is maintained at a pH between 2 and 4 by the addition of sulfuric acid, H3PO4.
This process takes place on the suction line of the mould blowing machine and the solution is sprayed inside the suction duct, as if it were humidifying. The solution is then recovered and is reintegrated sulfuric acid if necessary.
Also in this case it is necessary to eliminate the sludge resulting, by a device sludge dredger in action inside the duct.
Foundries bad smell reduction
Another application in the foundries is the reduction of odor resulting from the casting of cast iron, steel and light alloys. In fact, unlike the dry abatement systems, it is possible to filter the smallest particles of dust, but also dissolve in solution all the pollutants generated by the process and reduce odors generated by them.
It's also possible to dose in the fog chemicals reactants with pollutants to increase the effectiveness of odors reduction.
Our technical department is available to create specific chemicals for the abatement of smoke odor with a specific chemical composition.
Hereafter the features of the product that is typically used to reduce smells in foundries: - specially formulated to neutralize the odorous molecules that cause bad smells. Unlike normal products on the market, does not cover the odors but eliminates them to the base through a mechanism of ionic exchange. Olfactometric surveys conducted according to UNI EN 13725 have shown efficiency in terms of odor abatement up to 70-80%. - formula based on essential oils, with technological additives in aqueous medium. Completely biodegradable. - surfactants present in it does not contain phosphates and are therefore not classified as dangerous according to Directives Applicable Law relating to the classification, packaging and labeling of dangerous preparations. - has no toxicity to humans and is not in any way dangerous to aquatic organisms. It is not subject to any phrase R51, R52 or R53 unlike many products that smell like environments. - Is supplied in concentrated form but is easily soluble in water according to the recommended dosage. It should be diluted in water as a function of smell intensity from breaking down in proportion to the place where act and system used. Generally we recommend a dilution of the product in a range that varies between 0, 5 and 2% (between 0.5 kg and 2 kg in 100 liters of water). Obtained by spraying a very specific equipment, facilitates action of the product by accelerating the removal of malodorous molecules and optimizing consumption.

Misting systems for cooling air conditioners, chillers, refrigerators
The MGF misting systems are more and more frequently used for pre-cooling the incoming air of the outdoor units of air conditioners. In this way you get a higher efficiency and a lower energy consumption.
MGF misting systems are installed on large industrial refrigeration plant and air conditioning systems and their versatility also allows to use them in small household systems.
By being able to manage the temperature and humidity levels using an evolved as sophisticated electronic control system, our systems are able to work autonomously thus ensuring maximum efficiency at minimum cost.
In these contexts, in fact, it is essential to activate the nebulization only when it is really necessary, and that is when the ambient temperature becomes too high because the air conditioner can ensure optimal cooling power.
The sprayed water against the fins of the heat exchangers, drastically lowering the temperature of the coolant and thereby increasing the cooling capacity. Also it is very important to highlight that the sprayed water will evaporate immediately and for this reason there will be no need for storage tanks and recirculation.
Pre-cooling for a small air conditionerThis aspect is of fundamental importance because they are thus removed all the risks associated with the proliferation of bacteria, such as Legionella, allowing so to comply health and hygiene regulations.
The real advantages are significant and very significant: - energy savings: in fact, the refrigerant circuit works with a condensation temperature lower, and therefore the heat exchange is more efficient and the energy for the refrigeration cycle is reduced. - reduction of operating costs: the greater efficiency of the refrigeration cycle generated by nebulization leads to a safe reduction of operating costs, especially during the summer season. In addition, reduced process downtime due to heat. An example of a data center air-stationary due to overheating of the server! - greater efficiency of the system: it is in fact required a lesser amount of energy to achieve the same cooling effect. - noise reduction: the compressor must perform work less, thanks to lower air temperature at the outdoor unit. - reduction of water consumption: with fine water spray at the entrance of the heat exchanger, all water is evaporating - no Legionella risks
Our adiabatic coolers for air conditioners, chillers and refrigerators
As is known the high summer temperatures worsen the performance of refrigerators and chillers up to make it impossible to have adeguate heat exchange. In the worst conditions of the refrigeration systems are stopped due to poor cooling of the refrigerant.
For this reason more and more of business put in place measures aimed at improving the efficiency of air conditioners. Among many solutions one of the most effective is the use of MGF adiabatic coolers that allow, at low cost, to greatly enhance the performance of refrigeration cycles.
The high pressure misting technology makes it possible to obtain the typical benefits of water cooling systems, without any special inconvenience or high energy consumption.
Our Adiabatic Coolers Main Features
The atomization of water into fine mist allows quick evaporation of water: in this way the heat exchanger of the chiller receives cooler air, up to 15 degrees, but is not wet, or wet is less compared to conventional spray systems. In this way reducing deposits, improves heat transfer and prevents the formation of bacteria.
The complete evaporation of water mist allows wide economies: the water that falls on the ground does not cool. This is a significant detail when you consider that the biggest cost, both in terms of installation and management, is water treatment and not spraying.
The floor around the unit remains dry, thus reducing waste and the risk of the formation of bacteria.
The complete water evaporation generates substantial reductions of the temperature, up to 15 ° C or more in dry environments. Indeed, the process of adiabatic cooling in this case can be pushed up to saturation conditions.
Misting is not placed in direct contact with the machine, so eliminating the deposits of limestone and other minerals.
Key Benefits for those who choose our Adiabatic Coolers
Lower energy consumption: the cooling system in fact requires less operating time if the cooling of the condenser is based on higher delta temperature.
Lower installation costs: our adiabatic coolers ensure an optimal temperature even in summer, when the heat loads are higher, and therefore the air conditioning or refrigerator is able to develop its nominal cooling capacity, without the need to oversize it.
Lower maintenance costs: the compressors are working in project conditions and are subjected to less effort, so they require less maintenance.
Less downtime: when the temperature difference is no longer adequate, the refrigerating machine crashes, with damages are often difficult to quantify, if we consider the preservation of food or a shopping mall air conditioning.

Humidification in the printing and textile industry with MGF misting
As is known, the humidification is of fundamental importance both in printing houses that in the textile sector. In both cases, the raw material is hygroscopic, meaning able to absorb or release water vapor present in the atmosphere. This feature involves a not insignificant consequence, the product in fact change its mechanical characteristics, in particular the size (expands or shrinks according to its internal moisture), flexibility (increased humidity leads to greater flexibility), the specific weight (a greater water content increases the specific weight) and the ability to charge electrostatically.
All these phenomena can affect the production process positively or negatively, so the humidity control can create an ideal climate for a production of high quality and without waste.
As mentioned the hygroscopic products absorb or give water vapor to the surrounding environment on the basis of a simple diffusion mechanism, if the ambient humidity is greater than the material, will occur displacement of vapor from the air to the material, conversely, a material in a very humid environment relatively driest tends to release moisture to the surrounding environment. To better understand this mechanism, just think of a sponge that absorbs or releases water cyclically.
The dimensions of hygroscopic products in function of the relative humidity
Materials such as paper, cardboard or tissues are characterized by a cellular structure which can absorb moisture, for this are hygroscopic. The cells that absorb moisture swell like balloons filled with water, and shrink they are empty instead. This phenomenon involves the dilation of the material, and then the variation of size. In the case of printing this phenomenon is to be avoided because size variations between the printing of one color and the other can create problems of alignment and therefore the quality of the obtained product. In order to maintain such constant humidity with MGF nebulizers reduces the dimensional changes and thus improve the quality of the product. Similarly a yarn elongates depending on humidity and this may cause problems during processing.
The flexibility of hygroscopic products as a function of relative humidity
Same way as said the moisture contained in the paper and tissues, making them more flexible and elastic. In fact, the cells filled with water at the microscopic level are able to cushion the strains without damage, unlike a material too dry which tends to break easily and bends with difficulty. That is why it is important in the paper industry, in printing houses and textile industry exceed minimum levels of relative humidity, in order to reduce waste and breakage.
The specific weight as a function of relative humidity
Cells that constitute the paper or yarn increase their weight in function of the amount of water contained in them. Again keeping the moisture constant allows the printing houses and textile industries to meet the quality standards required and agreeded with the customer.
The reduction of electrostatic charges in the printing houses and textile industry
A final aspect to consider as deleterious in the textile printing houses is the presence of electrostatic charges, which degrade the quality of the product for several reasons. First, the charges can generate sparks with a voltage up to 25000V and then may ignite the paper or yarn, particularly synthetic ones. Spraying reduces this effect.
Another drawback caused by the electrical charges in printing processes is ink relative moving from original position (offset). This generates small inaccuracies in the press and ultimately a general deterioration of the quality of the product.
One of our customers, as documented by the images, uses from many years our misting systems to control humidity in his textile printing department, resulting in a high quality production and reduced rejects, two fundamental aspects to remain a leader in the competition world.
