Mario Ruiz designed the Origin collection. In his words, Origin looks simple and it is, because simplicity is the hardest thing to design. He follows the “less is more” principle of the architect Mies van der Rohe. The pieces combine easily into different set-ups for living, dining and relaxing. The dimensions are carefully studied, so the collection works at home and in contract and hospitality projects. The frames are powder-coated aluminium, chosen because it lasts and is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. The seats and backs of the chairs and loungers are Batyline, and the cushions are covered in fabrics that stand up to the sun. Mario Ruiz (Alicante, 1965) is an industrial designer known for simplicity and function. He has received more than 50 awards in Europe and the United States, and in 2016 King Felipe VI gave him Spain's National Design Award.
Under “Cushion fabric” on this page you choose the fabric group for the cushions: G2, G3 or G4. The groups hold 52 fabrics in total: G2 (29 fabrics), G3 (7) and G4 (16). The group sets the price. After you choose the group, write the fabric code from the fabric chart below in the order note. The fabric you choose covers all cushions. The first price you see is the cheapest option, group G2. The waterproof liner is always included. The frame comes in 34 Mineral White and 56 Gunmetal Grey, both at the same price. Pick yours from the frame colour chart below and write it in the order note. The Signature frame colours (70, 67, 72, 76, 64, 73, 66, 68, 59) are available on request, min. 10 units in one finish. Special conditions apply to them. Under “Protective cover” you choose “Without protective cover” or “With protective cover”. The first price shown is without the cover. The cover is beige polyester with an acrylic lacquer and it is waterproof. Point recommends 4 deco cushions 40 x 40 cm for this sofa. Under “Deco cushions” you choose “Without deco cushions” or “With the recommended deco cushions”. The deco cushions come in the same fabric as the seat cushions. The fabric code in your order note applies to them too. Their price depends on your choice under “Cushion fabric”.
The Origin collection also has: Point Origin lounge chair, Point Origin sofa 3, Point Origin rectangular coffee table.
You find every piece of the collection in Origin and the full Point range in Outdoor furniture.
