Burda IH is a powerful halogen infrared heater for exposed outdoor areas where looks matter too. The filament reaches 2200 °C, so it heats strongly and fast.
An infrared heater warms people and objects directly, not the air around them. That makes it a good fit for terraces, restaurant patios and balconies.
IH comes in two versions. The wide beam (IHW) spreads the heat at 60° and suits lower mounting, 1.8 to 2.5 m. The focused beam (IHF) directs the heat at 40° and is mounted higher, 2.3 to 3.5 m.
Inside is a halogen lamp with a faint red glow and a highly polished reflector for even heat distribution. The casing is anodised aluminium in RAL 9006 white aluminium. The grille is nickel and chrome plated, the end caps are powder-coated light alloy.
Frico rule of thumb: 600 to 800 W per m² raises the felt temperature by about 10 °C. If the area only has a roof, install at least 800 W/m². With three walls, 600 W/m² is enough. Comfort is best when the heat comes from at least two directions.
For control, add the Burda CBT timer or the Burda IHBD3 comfort controller BT (app, remote control or buttons on the unit). Frico advises against controllers that keep switching the power on and off, such as the Burda CIRT stepless controller with timer: do not use it with IH.
Mount IH horizontally on a wall with the bracket in the box and tilt it up to 45°. With the supplied console and a suitable U-bolt (not included) you can also fix it to a parasol or a post. The heater has a 0.9 m cord with plug for an earthed socket.
For the ceiling, choose the Burda IHE ceiling bracket. To angle the heater sideways or fix it to a windbreak, choose the Burda IHUB universal bracket. To mount it high, for example above a window, choose the Burda IHXH pipe hanging bracket, high. For a low position, for example on a windbreak, choose the Burda IHXL pipe hanging bracket, low. To stand the heater on the floor, choose the Burda IHP post with floor mounting. Three heaters of 1000 or 1500 W fit on the Burda IHT triple bracket: hang it with the Burda IHTW wire hanging kit or set it on the IHP post. Spare lamp: Burda IHL Low Glare lamp.
