Black locust is extremely resistant to changing weather conditions, so typical for our climate zone. Wood hardness is along with thickness one of the most important features of wood. Black locust is considered as very hard wood. Such additional components of black locust as tannins, gums, resins and essential oils improve wood resistance. Tannins are natural preservatives which prevent it from rotting.
