The Hanging Egg is an iconic hanging chair designed by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel in 1959. Hang it on a chain from the ceiling or in a stand, both sold separately. It is handmade from Indonesian rattan.

Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel designed the Hanging Egg in 1959. It looks its best in rooms with high ceilings, where it has air and space around it. You hang it in one of two ways, on a chain from the ceiling or in a stand, both sold separately. The ceiling chain is 150 cm long and can be shortened as needed. No ceiling hook is included, since the right hook depends on your ceiling. The stand is 205 cm high and 105 cm in diameter and comes with its own chain. Sika-Design uses carefully selected Indonesian rattan. Unlike hollow bamboo, rattan is solid, so the furniture is strong and lasts for generations. It belongs to the ICONS collection, in which Sika-Design brings back designs by renowned designers in close cooperation with their descendants.
