The Burda BPIR6 motion detector is an energy-saving motion detector with a temperature sensor for halogen infrared heaters. It switches the heater on only when people are present.
The built-in PIR sensor detects movement up to 5 m away in an angle of 100°. Each movement switches the heater on for the time you set, from 1 to 60 minutes, and restarts the count. The temperature sensor keeps the heater off when it is warmer than the set point. You can also adjust the sensitivity.
Soft start and zero-voltage switching cut the high inrush current of the lamps. According to Frico this can extend lamp life by up to 30 %.
The detector switches up to 6000 W, so it also handles Burda Term Multi IP67 with 3× 2000 W. Frico lists it as an accessory for Burda Term IP67 and Burda Term Multi IP67. It has three cable glands. For four lamps Frico shows a wiring with two junction boxes.
Mount the detector on a wall or ceiling. On a wall, place it 1 to 3 m high with the cable glands facing down. Do not point it at the heater lamps or place it near flues, air conditioners, moving bushes or reflective surfaces. It does not detect a person who is not moving. Have it connected by qualified personnel.
